Data encryption & storage

Overview

PresentDoc protects your data in transit and at rest. Documents and metadata are stored securely, with encryption applied where appropriate.

Encryption in transit

All traffic between your browser, integrations, and PresentDoc is secured with TLS. This includes document uploads, signatures, and API calls.

Encryption at rest

Stored files and sensitive fields are encrypted at rest. This reduces exposure if storage media is ever accessed without authorization.

Where data is stored

Documents and related files are stored in secure storage providers. Application metadata (users, tenants, logs) is stored in a database with access controls.

Key management

Encryption keys are managed securely and are not exposed to end users. Access to keys is restricted and audited.

Backups

Backups are encrypted and kept in secure storage. Retention periods follow your plan’s data retention policy.

Best practices for customers

  • Use strong passwords and enable email 2FA.

  • Limit access through roles and permissions.

  • Avoid sharing direct document links outside your organization.
